Goodword

Terms, in plain words

Goodword is a way to ask the people you know for a name, and to put your own name on a recommendation. Using it means agreeing to the following.

Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. One account per person. Your card shows your real name.

Asking

Asking is free. Your twelve get one text each, sent from your phone. You decide whether they may pass it one more hop. You may have up to five open asks at a time and one per trade.

Vouching

A vouch is your name on someone else's work. Only vouch for people you know, and say honestly whether you used them yourself. Vouches are never anonymous. Up to twenty vouches a day.

Housing vouches describe the landlord or the building, never a tenant. Health vouches are shown to the asker only.

Intros and fees

Assistants

If you turn on "My assistant can ask my table", each question your assistant asks costs $0.10, whether or not it finds an answer. You need a saved card. The tally is charged when it reaches $1.00, or at month end if it is at least $0.50; smaller balances roll over.

Texts

Texts to your twelve come from your own phone and are your own messages. If you tick the box to receive texts from Goodword, message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.

Payments

Payments and payouts are handled by Stripe under Stripe's terms. Goodword never sees your card number or bank details.

What we can do

We can pause or close an account that vouches dishonestly, invites people who did not want to be invited, or uses the service to send spam. We can change these terms; the current version is always at this address.

What we are not

Goodword introduces people. It does not do the job, guarantee the job, or take sides when a job goes wrong. The vouch tells you who stands behind the pro, nothing more.
